“Wood. Consume it voraciously” was chosen as a key message not only because “voraciously” is a lovely word to get your mouth around and is so expressive, but it gets the no-guilt message across – it’s OK to use wood. We are so used to being told to conserve and rightly so, but wood isn’t like any other raw material. It’s the world’s most renewable raw material and the more we use the better it is for the planet.
Voracious is meant in the sense that people are described as “voracious readers”. Use it to advantage. Use it without guilt, but don’t waste it. Use it wherever possible. Why, because the more it’s used, the more trees are planted and the better it is for the planet.
