Project Description:
The client wished to centralise a large and diverse local authority department into contiguous floors of a 1950’s era building in Central Auckland. Each floor plate provided approximately 1100 sqm of usable office space plus core areas for lifts, kitchenettes and toilets.
An ‘open plan’ approach was adopted to maximize real space usage and provide for a variable interior into the future. Only four fixed offices were to be required. The client wished to make maximum use of Environmentally Sustainable Development principals (before the formal Greenstar Accreditation System was available for interior fitouts in NZ).
