Sustainable decking proves popular

A sustainable Pinus radiata alternative to hardwood decking is proving popular in both New Zealand and overseas. Rotorua-based outdoor wood products manufacturer, Verda New Zealand Limited, provided a decking solution for the First Light House Solar Decathlon project.

Cross Laminated Timber for Christchurch

Solid timber benchtops hold their own

Solid timber can be used in all wet areas around your home, such as kitchens and bathrooms thanks to new coating applications. Using a specially formulated resin-based finish, it makes the timber heat resistant, water proof and easy to clean. Read the NZ Wood findings here.

I have a sinking feeling....

NZ Wood loves timber so much that even while on an overseas holiday, one team member managed to snap up some interesting wood pics. This sink was found in an early 20th century English castle built by Julius Drewe. Read more here to find the logic behind using timber in their sinks.
