This isn’t really timber focused, but after this turned up in my inbox this morning, I couldn’t not share it! Plus, it is carpenter/builder related….

Connecticut-based carpenter Dalton Ghetti has been creating miniature sculptures out of pencils since he was a kid back in elementary school. “I experimented sculpting with different materials, such as chalk, but one day I had an eureka moment and decided to carve into the graphite of a pencil,” he recently explained.
Last year, after two and half years, he finished a line of 26 pencils, with each letter of the alphabet carved into the tip. His current projects include a handsaw and a single rice-grain-sized teardrop for every victim of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
