FAQs / How much timber is harvested each year?

Around 20 million cubic metres of round wood is harvested each year – all but 0.01 percent from exotic plantation forests. This is the equivalent of clear felling 41,400 hectares (2008 figures).

Most of the clear felled area is restocked, but the amount of restocking or new planting varies from year to year.
