This student housing building, for the University of Coimbra, is clad on three sides with white textured concrete blocks.

University of Coimbra Student Hostel

The east facade vividly contrasts the white uniformity with its regular grid of wood panelling. Precisely detailed tall and narrow windows, proportioned like doors, sit within this façade. Each has two wooden shutters which become animated by the occupants with their opening and closing.
