Sanaksenaho
Sited on a small rise among coniferous trees, the chapel evokes images of a fish or an upturned boat.
The principal materials used are wood and copper. Glue-laminated pine ribs, all manufactured from the same mould and placed in a fishbone arrangement, form the load-bearing structure. Changes in the floor plan and outline of the chapel were achieved by adjusting the height of the ribs. The interior is lined with untreated pine boarding, which will redden over time due to the effects of natural light.
