With SMARTCLAD it’s never been easier or faster to install timber weatherboards! Only SmartClad timber weatherboards have the unique hidden fixing system.

It’s new, simple and quite revolutionary.

From the front, SmartClad are simply traditional profile beveled back timber weatherboards that have been used in New Zealand for decades. They have the same profile, the same shadow lines and are made from the same sustainable radiata pine…our very own renewable timber resource. They come in 6 metre lengths and are pre-primed on all four sides.

But here’s the difference…

Behind the weatherboards the SmartClad, (never to be seen!) there is a clipping system (patented in NZ and internationally) that makes things radically different. It’s in the groove and a small, sturdy, plastic clip (We call it the SmartClip) is designed to make installation up to 50% faster. The SmartClip is a unique patented clip that simply slots into the specially designed groove on the back of the beveled timber weatherboards. It’s then screwed at the head of each board to the stud and sits at exactly the right angle to ensure the board is held securely.

So there’s NO more drilling; NO more nailing, NO more puttying and NO more face damage. And that means a SmartFinish!

Ideal for new homes or re-cladding existing homes…particularly in instances where existing cladding has failed or weather-tightness is an issue…because SmartClad is sealed prior to priming so moisture from the paint will NOT be absorbed into the timber as it normally would be.

And SmartClad comes with a range of pre-scribed components to make life even easier...Starter Boards; Scribers; Facings; Box Corners; Cavity battens; Eaves moulding; Beazley Sill and Internal Corner Scriber.

All SmartClad timber weatherboards are fully compliant to the New Zealand Building Code and are fully supported by a comprehensive and trained Installer programme by Pure Pine mouldings.
