Odlins Office and Trade Buildings

The Odlins Office building is made from heavy timber construction.

The columns and beams and flooring are of glued laminated construction. Gravity glue laminated frames are constructed as 4 storey high components achieving rapid construction. Surface of internal members are a clear finish. All exterior timbers have a paint finish with stainless steel connections. Lateral loads in the building are resisted by concrete shear walls. The Trade Building is an extensive single storey industrial building of timber construction. Double timber, pressed metal trusses are provided on a 5 metre grid supported on sawn timber columns. Lateral bracing is provided by timber framed walls with plywood sheeting while roof bracing is of light mild steel. The mezzanine is of conventional timber construction supported off glue laminated beams.
