Container bach

This portable bach, created from a 6 m2 shipping container, unfolds to provide 36 m2 of living space (including the deck).

A fold-down double bed, composting toilet, shower and kitchen is provided, with the option of a further two bunks folding out of the end. The interior makes extensive use of bamboo plywood and a glue-free composite from renewable sources. Inspired by the tradition of the New Zealand bach, this getaway can be made power, water and sewer independent and has minimal impact on the environment.
